Metadata remover

Remove all metadata from many files at once: GPS, camera details, dates, AI labels and Content Credentials. Every file is checked again after cleaning.

  • Files never leave your device
  • Many files at once
  • Free, no account
Options
Removes everything by default: GPS, camera and owner details, dates, AI labels and Content Credentials, prompts and generator settings. Every cleaned file is read again afterwards, so the numbers you see are checked, not assumed.

Cleaned files

    Nothing is uploaded

Cleaning runs as code in this page. Your files stay on your device from start to finish.

    Pictures stay untouched

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP3 and video are cleaned by cutting out the metadata blocks. Image and sound data are copied byte for byte.

    Checked after cleaning

Each cleaned file goes back through the viewer, so you see how many fields were there before and how many remain.

    Questions

Can I save the cleaned file in another format?

Yes. Each cleaned file has a “Save as” list. Pictures can be saved as JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO or PDF. Videos can be saved as MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM or an animated GIF, or as audio only (M4A, WAV, OGG). Audio can be saved as M4A, WAV, OGG or FLAC. Converted files are checked too, and carry no metadata. HEIC cannot be created in a browser.

Does it remove AI labels and Content Credentials?

Yes. Content Credentials (C2PA), IPTC AI labels and saved prompts or generator settings are all removed. Some tools, such as Google SynthID, also hide an invisible watermark inside the pixels themselves. That is part of the picture, not metadata, so no metadata tool can remove it.

What happens to iPhone HEIC photos?

HEIC cannot be edited in place in a browser, so the remover saves a clean JPG copy at high quality. The original on your device is not changed.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. All the code runs inside this page, in your browser. No file, file name or result is sent to this website or anywhere else. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.

    What can it not remove?

Anything that is part of the content: text in a document, faces or signs in a photo, comments a reviewer typed. Password protected PDFs need the password removed first.
